IS THE WORLD REALLY GOING TO END????

I wake up to another morning with the sunlight bathing the curtains and whitewashing the entire room. It seems to be a beautiful day. I turn on the television and flip channels until I come across a news channel giving some breaking news. I just grab on my glasses in order to have clear picture of the news. I shout so loud “What the hell?” that my mother comes running into the drawing room. She realizes that why I was shouting. There in the news we see the live telecast of a spine chilling earthquake taking place in Japan. Its seems to be beyond my comprehension to describe the fear that I had felt that time and still get goose bumps thinking about the scenario of 2012 prophecy.
The prophecy of our earth getting destroyed is not a new thing. Earlier there used to be tsunamis but we didn’t have instruments to detect it. But with recurring earthquakes and tsunamis the possibility of destruction has increased. And guess what? It is happening. The nature’s fury has started to play. When I last visited the Puri sea beach I was shocked to find out that it has started eroding the road surrounding it. It has come so far that it has been predicted that within 20 years the famous hotels near the beach will be washed away by the sea. Not only in Orissa but it has been happening in all parts of India and also the world. There has been increased global warming leading to melting of ice in arctic and Antarctic regions. How can we forget the Tsunami that lashed the shores of southern India and the small island countries in the Indian Ocean. People who came as tourists lost their families and not only them many people who were not alerted before went down to the beach and, with a twist of fate, were found dead and some of them were never found. That tsunami changed the lives of everyone. Then this earthquake in Japan which happened this year only sent the message that our end is near. Not only one but two earthquakes have triggered Japan within three months.
The year 2012 is now round the corner. Some are saying that the earth will not get entirely destroyed. But there will be some destruction in some parts. Still there are many questions arising in my mind. Will all continents again join up due to tectonic movements to become a one large continent like earlier? Will there be an end of mankind with emergence of dinosaurs again?? Or is the world really going to end?? These questions are not only mine but these are the questions made by humankind. Whatever the answers maybe, whether we live or we perish, we should enjoy every gift of nature and every moment of our live because our future is full of terrible surprises. That several predictions of the effects of climate change have come true brings us tangible proof that we must mobilize what we can to create our most effective insulation against this crisis. With this we all go back to our slumber hoping for a wonderful morning the next day.

WHEN WILL WE STUDY????

Do you know the one term which can put even an insomniac to sleep??? Any guesses?? I don’t think any student especially a B.tech student will fail to answer…“STUDIES”. Oh those boring lectures in class... Though most of us don’t listen to it rather we concentrate on texting or making fun of the lecturers (I still remember the day in my 3rd semester when I and my friend did a video footage of Ojha mam that too sitting on the first bench…: P). The fun of not doing homework, the embarrassment of getting punished in front of the whole class with friends giggling behind you, all these things make studying more entertaining. We don’t even open our books until there is some serious exam which involves a great deal of marks. Just mark my words “a great deal of marks”. A five marks-viva can’t even trigger our interest for studying. Does it guys??? I don’t think so. But when the exam fever catches us then the blue screen of laptops become black. Late night study begins with no delay. Instead of laptops we have varieties of notes on our laps. Tension on our faces whether we will be able to complete our course within one night (this is applicable only for semesters not for internals). Then we curse ourselves for not studying it earlier. After the exam we promise God that from next time onwards we will study regularly without any delay. And we do it.
Hey the last four words are not true!!!! Then what is the truth guys…. Yes you all are right. We never change…….

PERFECTNESS..

“Why does everyone seems to be perfect except for me? Why can’t I have a perfect life?”……..
Does these questions are a part of your life? I think most of us do ask these questions to ourselves. What is the reason behind all these thoughts? No one knows. . But when we see people who lead a “so called” perfect life we only see the brighter side of them. We underestimate ourselves for things which we find perfect in others. We don’t see the things which we are perfect in and don’t even realize that others who we think to be perfect might not be perfect in which we are. We start changing our habits for the sake of being recognized in a gathering. But in doing so, we start losing our old-self. We even start to miss the way we were. We start losing friends who liked our old-self. This kills our self-confidence and results in hurting ourselves. We are rather cheating ourselves. So, by changing according to a person who we consider to be perfect doesn’t help us but rather destroys our identity of who we are and what we can do.
So guys remember….Thinking someone to be perfect is our way of perceiving a particular individual. Do not ever change your habits or behavior which is liked by your close-ones for the sake of being perfect. When we start believing in ourselves no one can stop us from being happy and satisfied.  In this world “Nobody is perfect”.

VAMPIRES AND WEREWOLVES

Vampires and Werewolves, these two fictitious beings have been a very integral part of all fiction writers & fiction movie makers. They may not be true but their stories have sent chills down everybody’s spines. So here comes my favorite topic of discussion- i.e. their existence.

The existence of vampires dates back to the time when Count Dracula existed. According to data that has been collected about him is that he was a very cruel ruler who cruelly murdered his captives by slaying their heads and piercing their bodies through pointed poles. When his queen was captivated by some other king he destroyed a church. So God became angry and cursed him. So he became a vampire and killed many travelers who came to Transylvania where he used to stay in his castle. A motion picture was also made which was named “Bram Stoker’s Dracula”. Bram Stoker had originally written it. Then another motion picture came named “Dracula 2000”. In this movie the history was totally different. Here the story was Judas who was among the six disciples of Jesus Christ was the Dracula. When these disciples had betrayed Jesus Christ, Judas was one of his favorite disciples and he was the one who pierced the sword through the heart of Jesus. So he was cursed and when he tried to kill himself by hanging himself from a tree the branch itself broke not allowing to kill himself and thus he became a vampire.
In many movies it has been shown that vampires never go out in sunlight as they get burnt, drink blood of humans, sleep in coffins, turn into bats during night time, they have cold skin, very fast, are immortal etc. But in the movie “Twilight” some of the facts match like speed, cold skinned etc... In this movie it has been shown that vampires don’t get burnt in sunlight rather their skin glitter like diamonds. They do not turn into bats, don’t sleep at all, in order to prevent themselves from drinking blood of humans they drink blood of animals and consider themselves as vegetarians. So here we find that there are different concepts and theories about vampires.

Werewolves are another breed of supernatural realm. They are human beings who turn into wolves during full moon night. Theory says that these wolves when bite some human they also turn into werewolves. It has been shown in many movies and also described in books that during transformation it becomes very painful for them. Their structure and appearance is totally different from normal wolves. According to a movie (whose name I don’t remember) it showed that werewolves never touch anything that is silver as it burns there body. In the blockbuster movie “Twilight” it has been shown that werewolves and vampires are long term enemies.
In its another installation named “Eclipse” it has been clearly described that whenever a vampire has set foot on the small town of “Forks”, the people staying in the reservation give birth to children who turn into werewolves in order to protect their tribe. This type of werewolves is known as shape shifters. They can change themselves into wolves whenever they want. They don’t require a full moon night rather they require a danger so as to protect their tribe. They also heal more quickly than normal human beings. Here also there is difference between the theories and concepts about this mythical creature.

Whatever the concept maybe, it has earlier entertained people and is still sending chills down the spine of many people. As long as it entertains the people these supernatural creatures will be alive in their minds.

THE LOST LOVE....

She stared at the photo for a long time. It made her feel that if she stared for a long time then the person in it might come out of the photo and be a real person. She longed for that moment every day. She was desperate about it. But it never ever happened. She wanted to see that person again. She wanted to hear the voice, the laughter, see the smile everything. She desperately wanted her Mother to come back.
She had lost her mother when she was seven years old. It has been two years since. Still she remembered every detail about her. Her father remarried but she was not happy with her new mother. It reminded her about the Cinderella story which her mother used to read out to her. Her stepmother was good but she wanted her own mother. She hated her father as well. She always thought that he was the reason for her mother’s death. He used to come home drunk and then would beat her mother. And now he had got whatever he had wanted. One night a terrible thing happened. She lost her father as well in a heart attack. She felt all alone but somehow it made her feel that god had done a good thing. Her stepmother’s behavior towards her was changing day by day according to the Cinderella story. Her stepbrother never accepted her as his sister. Even in school he did not recognize her. Her life was turning into hell. She was an orphan now. She did not have very good friends either. Her stepmother never left her alone. She would make her do everything. But she never complained. Her life was a living hell. All of them turned out to be mean to her. But she accepted it thinking her life will turnover soon.
Days passed by. Days turned into months and then into years. It was time for her to go to college. She was a very good student and so she had got a full scholarship for her higher studies. Her stepmother was happy because she would not have to pay for her studies anymore and also about the fact that she will not be staying with them any longer. She was happy too. With the little fortune that she had inherited from her parents, she left her house where she was born. Her college life was not as horrible as her school life was. She began to understand people a lot more in a better way. Her stepmother never allowed her to socialize and also made her son to spy her at school even. But here in college she was free as a bird. She made very good friends and was happy. Still every night she would stare at her mother’s photo and would want her to come back. Her life was changing. It was now becoming good, even better. She was in love now. And he was amazing. He loved her so much. She had longed for that love and care so much. But she was afraid that if her love of her life turned out like her father. She always prayed to god about this. And her prayers seemed to be answered.
Finally her studies got over and her days of her marriage were coming closer. She was very happy. She heard from her stepmother that she realized that she was very bad to her and she was very sorry about it. It made her feel happy that finally things were getting better. Her prayers were getting answered. Her wedding was a success and made her forget all her pain and worries. Her husband loved her everyday and it also grew day by day. Soon she got pregnant and after nine months the couple welcomed a baby girl. How happy she was. She left her job to look after her baby and never complained about it. It made her feel happy that she was a good mother and will never leave her little angel from her sight. Her husband was always around to help whatever she needed. They both loved their daughter very much.
But happiness was not so long for her. Her husband started to come late at nights. And sometimes he would be drunk. This started when he had a terrible loss in his business. He tried to talk about this with his wife but she seemed busy always with the baby. He started to hate the baby. She couldn’t understand what was wrong with him. She tried to console him but was in vain. He ignored her. This led to long fights and sometimes he hit her too. She couldn’t understand what was happening. She started crying and praying every day. She did not want her bad luck to come back. But fate was not good to her. The situation aggravated and made her sick. Some nights her husband did not come back. Once her baby was sick late at night and her husband wasn’t there with her. She had to take her baby all alone to the doctor. She then decided that she had to talk to her husband about this. That night she was fully prepared but he never came back. She waited for him the whole night and then fell asleep in the couch. She woke up in the morning and went to her room. To her horror she found her husband with another woman in bed. She was shocked and heartbroken. Her husband was also sorry about the whole thing but she couldn’t take it anymore. She had enough of her sorrows. She decided to end her life. She ran back to the stairs with her husband at her heels. She went inside the kitchen and shut the door. She turned on the knob of the gas. Her husband tried to persuade her but she did not listen. She was angry with God. She just wanted a happy life which was never granted to her. She had decided to end this torture as soon as possible. She was just about to light a matchstick when she heard a cry. She realized that it was her baby. She was crying for her mother because she wants her to be nearby to protect her and to love her. She then realized her pain when she had lost her mother. She dropped the matchstick and ran to her baby. She cried a lot and realized what a huge mistake she was about to do.
Her husband then explained that nothing had happened between him and that other woman. And he explained why he was behaving like this and was very sorry for all the fights they had because of that. He also explained the reason behind it. It then dawned on her that she was actually very busy with her baby and almost forgot her duties as a wife. The love from her mother was short-lived so she wanted that her baby shouldn’t experience the way she did. So she spent the entire time with her daughter. They both realized their mistakes and promised that they would love each other more than they ever had. They certainly lived happily ever after and she finally got her “Lost Love”.
