My life around Corona

I know what you are thinking. Again the same post about being safe, washing your hands for 20 seconds, not touching etc.etc. Yeah all that is true and valid and you should continue doing that. But I am not going to bore you with the facts that you already know. I want to just blabber about my life and how this virus has affected me.

Clearly my life is the same. Weekends at home. Bored to fuck. All friends busy. No plans. Nothing. I feel my life is a "Corona Virus Quarantine" you can say. Its been 7 years since I am blogging again. So you know I have exhausted every other way to keep myself occupied. On the work front I can say it has been really good. I like being appreciated which I clearly lacked in my previous organisation. Well I know here also it wont last long. Anyway, back to Corona. I had recently started gym again and also had started lifting heavier weights. Well Corona did not like that. It said "Let me pay a visit and destroy the dreams of getting fit." I know everything will be fine but then again I have planned to visit my best friend who is pregnant(1st one to get that...Yaaaaasssss!!!). But that plan is also dwindling. I have forgotten about ever going to USA. That feels like days of my future past. I miss my niece though. I fear she will forget about me. Apart from that, I have other problems too. Corona has made it easier. I will be 29 this year and have left the hope finding a decent guy. Looking back at my life, its not what I ever expected when I was a kid. It was always something else. Now I have reached a point where I prefer to be alone than surrounded with people. I would prefer staying alone as well and not giving two fucks to anyone. I thought its a new city, new job. I will meet some good guy and something magical will happen. But it all turned worse than before. Everyone is either getting married, getting pregnant or going abroad. But I am still here with a meagre salary, with no man to complain to and no single friends to hang out.

I have covered almost all of it. I hope Corona leaves us in peace and takes all negativity along with it and dumps on the person whom have cheated on me.This is my life around Corona.

The V-day FOR THE OTHER KIND

With Valentine’s Day in the air, we see more and more gifts, flowers, soft toys especially teddy bears and moreover couples everywhere. But before the “big day” there comes a series of “small days” or in other words we can say appetizers before the main course. Even though the month of February has the least number of days as compared to other months in a year but it is the most important month of the year as it is called- The Month of Love…
When this month approaches there is excitement, anxiousness and surprise among the couples about what should they give to their loved ones. It not only includes these happy feelings but along comes the mindless calculations about how many bucks they have to save for this month and how they are going to hide it from their parents. Anyway they all end up having a good time together. They will celebrate each and every “small day” according to their names with great pomp and show. The series of these days are:-
·         Rose day
·         Propose Day
·         Chocolate day
·         Teddy day
·         Promise Day
·         Hug day
·         Kiss day
Then comes the Valentine’s day and thus comes the end of the series of gifts.
My motive of writing this is not describing about the feelings of the lovers.  It’s something different. Read on..

There are two kinds of people who are excited about this month. First kind- I just described it above in brief. Let us move on to the second kind- my kind- The Singletons.  We are the most excited species on this very month. Every year we would wait for this month thinking maybe we will end up having someone very special or just have a fling to remember. As the days proceed starting with Rose day we think “yes today someone has to give a rose- a red one. Ok yellow will be fine”. But as the day dawns and still no luck we just sadly think at least we could have got the thorn of a rose. Propose day comes and hopes become higher but luck doesn’t even touch our skin. It feels as if we are banned from being proposed. Then day after day pass by. We would see couples sitting around holding hands whispering away. We start envying them and curse why such a month exists. Finally the V-day comes and still we have our hopes high thinking something might turn up. But the day passes by as a normal boring day with us sulking the whole time.
It doesn’t mean that all of them end up sulking. Some of them become lucky and leave us in our pit of sorrows. Again life becomes normal and we get back to our usual routine. But you know what who cares about not having a perfect V-day this year because there is always another year to look upon… J J

STRANGE ADDICTIONS

According to Roget’s Thesaurus the word “addicted” means- to be habituated with or accustomed with. The addictions are mostly to different kind of things. When we say a person is an addict it usually means he/she is addicted to drugs or alcohol. But that isn’t true. It may be tea, coffee, chocolates or lots of other things. When I say strange it just surprises me when I come to know about these addictions. A question just pops in my mind, “ Do people really do have these addictions?” Let’s throw light on these peculiar habits.
A woman named Lauren has a strange addiction of bodybuilding. She works out every day for 10 to 12 hours in gym and takes human growth hormones to enhance her biceps. Her voice has turned manly and she has no regrets about it. She has won over 30 titles in bodybuilding and still aspires for more. Her friends started worrying about her and suggested her to consult a psychiatrist. She didn’t take much heed to their advice. So a very good friend of her forced her to consult and so she agreed. The doctor asked her the reason and her answer was she once addicted to drugs and alcohol and was sent to a rehab. In order to suppress the urge she turned to bodybuilding and gradually it turned into an addiction. The doctor then suggested her to divide her schedule so that she will be able to have enough rest and also control her addiction. The visit really worked for her and now she still works out in gym but along with it she meditates and also now has long sleeping hours.
Another girl Rhonda has a weird addiction. She is 24 years old and she sucks her thumb. Yes you have read it right. She has never done a thing without sucking her thumb along with sniffing a small piece of her blanket. She actually wraps that small piece around her index finger and brings to her nose and sniffs it along with sucking her thumb. Upon asking she said by doing so she finds herself very much safe and secure. The reason she tells that when she was a child her parents had got separated and it created a blanket of fear around her heart and from that day onwards she became addicted. She doesn’t suck her thumb while bathing, eating or brushing. She is prone to many diseases because she doesn’t wash her hand properly and she admits it but to feel safe she has to do it. She also consulted a doctor rather a social worker who said that if she is ready to let it go then she will recommend an exercise which will tense her muscles from head to toe and will help to get rid of this addiction. But Rhonda was not ready for it and said some day she has to think about it for her future.
These addictions don’t end here. There are more bizarre addictions which we haven’t ever heard of it. There is a 22 year old married girl who pulls out her hair strands and eats the hair follicles. In order to cover up the baldness, due to her addiction, she uses a bandana. Another girl is shoeholic and has spent over $45000 on it. These are normal people with disturbed past in most of the cases. We find out that most people in order to divert them or suppress some fears or urges; they adopt these unusual and strange addictions. Whatever it is these people need love, care and protection from their loved ones who only can help them fight with their addictions rather live with it. So open your eyes and look at yourself. Have you got any Strange Addiction???

IS THE WORLD REALLY GOING TO END????

I wake up to another morning with the sunlight bathing the curtains and whitewashing the entire room. It seems to be a beautiful day. I turn on the television and flip channels until I come across a news channel giving some breaking news. I just grab on my glasses in order to have clear picture of the news. I shout so loud “What the hell?” that my mother comes running into the drawing room. She realizes that why I was shouting. There in the news we see the live telecast of a spine chilling earthquake taking place in Japan. Its seems to be beyond my comprehension to describe the fear that I had felt that time and still get goose bumps thinking about the scenario of 2012 prophecy.
The prophecy of our earth getting destroyed is not a new thing. Earlier there used to be tsunamis but we didn’t have instruments to detect it. But with recurring earthquakes and tsunamis the possibility of destruction has increased. And guess what? It is happening. The nature’s fury has started to play. When I last visited the Puri sea beach I was shocked to find out that it has started eroding the road surrounding it. It has come so far that it has been predicted that within 20 years the famous hotels near the beach will be washed away by the sea. Not only in Orissa but it has been happening in all parts of India and also the world. There has been increased global warming leading to melting of ice in arctic and Antarctic regions. How can we forget the Tsunami that lashed the shores of southern India and the small island countries in the Indian Ocean. People who came as tourists lost their families and not only them many people who were not alerted before went down to the beach and, with a twist of fate, were found dead and some of them were never found. That tsunami changed the lives of everyone. Then this earthquake in Japan which happened this year only sent the message that our end is near. Not only one but two earthquakes have triggered Japan within three months.
The year 2012 is now round the corner. Some are saying that the earth will not get entirely destroyed. But there will be some destruction in some parts. Still there are many questions arising in my mind. Will all continents again join up due to tectonic movements to become a one large continent like earlier? Will there be an end of mankind with emergence of dinosaurs again?? Or is the world really going to end?? These questions are not only mine but these are the questions made by humankind. Whatever the answers maybe, whether we live or we perish, we should enjoy every gift of nature and every moment of our live because our future is full of terrible surprises. That several predictions of the effects of climate change have come true brings us tangible proof that we must mobilize what we can to create our most effective insulation against this crisis. With this we all go back to our slumber hoping for a wonderful morning the next day.

WHEN WILL WE STUDY????

Do you know the one term which can put even an insomniac to sleep??? Any guesses?? I don’t think any student especially a B.tech student will fail to answer…“STUDIES”. Oh those boring lectures in class... Though most of us don’t listen to it rather we concentrate on texting or making fun of the lecturers (I still remember the day in my 3rd semester when I and my friend did a video footage of Ojha mam that too sitting on the first bench…: P). The fun of not doing homework, the embarrassment of getting punished in front of the whole class with friends giggling behind you, all these things make studying more entertaining. We don’t even open our books until there is some serious exam which involves a great deal of marks. Just mark my words “a great deal of marks”. A five marks-viva can’t even trigger our interest for studying. Does it guys??? I don’t think so. But when the exam fever catches us then the blue screen of laptops become black. Late night study begins with no delay. Instead of laptops we have varieties of notes on our laps. Tension on our faces whether we will be able to complete our course within one night (this is applicable only for semesters not for internals). Then we curse ourselves for not studying it earlier. After the exam we promise God that from next time onwards we will study regularly without any delay. And we do it.
Hey the last four words are not true!!!! Then what is the truth guys…. Yes you all are right. We never change…….

PERFECTNESS..

“Why does everyone seems to be perfect except for me? Why can’t I have a perfect life?”……..
Does these questions are a part of your life? I think most of us do ask these questions to ourselves. What is the reason behind all these thoughts? No one knows. . But when we see people who lead a “so called” perfect life we only see the brighter side of them. We underestimate ourselves for things which we find perfect in others. We don’t see the things which we are perfect in and don’t even realize that others who we think to be perfect might not be perfect in which we are. We start changing our habits for the sake of being recognized in a gathering. But in doing so, we start losing our old-self. We even start to miss the way we were. We start losing friends who liked our old-self. This kills our self-confidence and results in hurting ourselves. We are rather cheating ourselves. So, by changing according to a person who we consider to be perfect doesn’t help us but rather destroys our identity of who we are and what we can do.
So guys remember….Thinking someone to be perfect is our way of perceiving a particular individual. Do not ever change your habits or behavior which is liked by your close-ones for the sake of being perfect. When we start believing in ourselves no one can stop us from being happy and satisfied.  In this world “Nobody is perfect”.

VAMPIRES AND WEREWOLVES

Vampires and Werewolves, these two fictitious beings have been a very integral part of all fiction writers & fiction movie makers. They may not be true but their stories have sent chills down everybody’s spines. So here comes my favorite topic of discussion- i.e. their existence.

The existence of vampires dates back to the time when Count Dracula existed. According to data that has been collected about him is that he was a very cruel ruler who cruelly murdered his captives by slaying their heads and piercing their bodies through pointed poles. When his queen was captivated by some other king he destroyed a church. So God became angry and cursed him. So he became a vampire and killed many travelers who came to Transylvania where he used to stay in his castle. A motion picture was also made which was named “Bram Stoker’s Dracula”. Bram Stoker had originally written it. Then another motion picture came named “Dracula 2000”. In this movie the history was totally different. Here the story was Judas who was among the six disciples of Jesus Christ was the Dracula. When these disciples had betrayed Jesus Christ, Judas was one of his favorite disciples and he was the one who pierced the sword through the heart of Jesus. So he was cursed and when he tried to kill himself by hanging himself from a tree the branch itself broke not allowing to kill himself and thus he became a vampire.
In many movies it has been shown that vampires never go out in sunlight as they get burnt, drink blood of humans, sleep in coffins, turn into bats during night time, they have cold skin, very fast, are immortal etc. But in the movie “Twilight” some of the facts match like speed, cold skinned etc... In this movie it has been shown that vampires don’t get burnt in sunlight rather their skin glitter like diamonds. They do not turn into bats, don’t sleep at all, in order to prevent themselves from drinking blood of humans they drink blood of animals and consider themselves as vegetarians. So here we find that there are different concepts and theories about vampires.

Werewolves are another breed of supernatural realm. They are human beings who turn into wolves during full moon night. Theory says that these wolves when bite some human they also turn into werewolves. It has been shown in many movies and also described in books that during transformation it becomes very painful for them. Their structure and appearance is totally different from normal wolves. According to a movie (whose name I don’t remember) it showed that werewolves never touch anything that is silver as it burns there body. In the blockbuster movie “Twilight” it has been shown that werewolves and vampires are long term enemies.
In its another installation named “Eclipse” it has been clearly described that whenever a vampire has set foot on the small town of “Forks”, the people staying in the reservation give birth to children who turn into werewolves in order to protect their tribe. This type of werewolves is known as shape shifters. They can change themselves into wolves whenever they want. They don’t require a full moon night rather they require a danger so as to protect their tribe. They also heal more quickly than normal human beings. Here also there is difference between the theories and concepts about this mythical creature.

Whatever the concept maybe, it has earlier entertained people and is still sending chills down the spine of many people. As long as it entertains the people these supernatural creatures will be alive in their minds.
