With Valentine’s Day in the air, we see more and more gifts,
flowers, soft toys especially teddy bears and moreover couples everywhere. But
before the “big day” there comes a series of “small days” or in other words we
can say appetizers before the main course. Even though the month of February
has the least number of days as compared to other months in a year but it is
the most important month of the year as it is called- The Month of Love…
When
this month approaches there is excitement, anxiousness and surprise among the
couples about what should they give to their loved ones. It not only includes
these happy feelings but along comes the mindless calculations about how many
bucks they have to save for this month and how they are going to hide it from
their parents. Anyway they all end up having a good time together. They will
celebrate each and every “small day” according to their names with great pomp
and show. The series of these days are:-
·
Rose day
·
Propose Day
·
Chocolate day
·
Teddy day
·
Promise Day
·
Hug day
·
Kiss day
Then comes the Valentine’s day and thus
comes the end of the series of gifts.
My
motive of writing this is not describing about the feelings of the lovers. It’s something different. Read on..
There are two kinds of people who are
excited about this month. First kind- I just described it above in brief. Let
us move on to the second kind- my kind- The Singletons. We are the most excited species on this very
month. Every year we would wait for this month thinking maybe we will end up
having someone very special or just have a fling to remember. As the days
proceed starting with Rose day we think “yes today someone has to give a rose-
a red one. Ok yellow will be fine”. But as the day dawns and still no luck we
just sadly think at least we could have got the thorn of a rose. Propose day
comes and hopes become higher but luck doesn’t even touch our skin. It feels as
if we are banned from being proposed. Then day after day pass by. We would see
couples sitting around holding hands whispering away. We start envying them and
curse why such a month exists. Finally the V-day comes and still we have our
hopes high thinking something might turn up. But the day passes by as a normal
boring day with us sulking the whole time.
It doesn’t mean that all of
them end up sulking. Some of them become lucky and leave us in our pit of
sorrows. Again life becomes normal and we get back to our usual routine. But
you know what who cares about not having a perfect V-day this year because
there is always another year to look upon… J
